My Friend: Happy New Year!!
I: Idiot! Have you gone nuts?! Where the heck did happy new year come-in in the middle of the year!
My Friend: Its 1st Muharram.
I wish I had a camera and I could take my picture. I swear it must have been a picture of the most idiotic of creatures on the planet. So much for my muslim credentials!

How is it supposed to be happy? Maybe you haven't read about karbala or maybe you just decided to skip one of the most important chapters of Muslim history.
