"if you are a muslim then you should not say merry christmas because by doing so you are saying that jesus was a son of god and he was crucified on cross for the sins of humanity which we muslims do not believe.
SO MUSLIMS PLEASE STOP WISHING MERRY CHRISTMAS TO CHRISTAN FRIENDS OR ANY ONE IN IGNORANCE."
The SMS I received even referenced it to Dr. Zakir Naik. If he really has said that.. then please take a certificate from me for him of being a moron par excellence.
(with due apologies to Zakir Naik) Now listen to me dear muslim brothers and sisters. It is mentioned in the glorious Quran, Chapter 49 Verse number 6
49:06 - O ye who believe! If a wicked person comes to you with any news, ascertain the truth, lest ye harm people unwittingly, and afterwards become full of repentance for what ye have done.
So first thing first. What does 'Merry Christmas' mean? It is "Happy Christ's Mass" and the term is used to celebrate Jesus's birthday. It does not in any way mean that 'Jesus is the son of God'. So my muslim brothers and sisters, two wrong acts were committed. First, you did not ascertain what the statement meant and believed in it at once. Secondly, you just insulted Christians! Give me a break!
As muslims we believe that Jesus was one of the great messengers of God. To quote Quran.
Quran 3:45 - Behold! the angels said: "O Mary! Allah giveth thee glad tidings of a Word from Him: his name will be Christ Jesus, the son of Mary, held in honour in this world and the Hereafter and of (the company of) those nearest to Allah;
So why as a muslim would you not celebrate the birth of Jesus? If not celebrate, at least wish Christians well on this day? After all we do celebrate the birth of Prophet Muhammad do not we? 12th rabi-ul-awwal?
Now say alongside me ok? Merry Christmas!!
:)
41:34 - Nor can goodness and Evil be equal. Repel (Evil) with what is better: Then will he between whom and thee was hatred become as it were thy friend and intimate!

“O you who
believe! Take not the Jews and Christians for friends. They are friends one to another. He
among you who takes them for friends is (one) of them. Lo! Many of mankind are evil-livers” 5:51
They cant be your friends and you are saying Merry Christmas to THEM.
Also it is Christ-Mas
What does Christ Mean?
I means the "the anointed one"
Now what does anointed means in this context?
Jesus was anointed with the spirit of God.
From here rises the controversy. Like everything religious you can have your own interpretation.
and of all the people.. you had to comment?
The so called 'learned' people like you are equally ignorant unfortunately.
66:08 - Allah forbids you not, with regard to those who fight you not for (your) Faith nor drive you out of your homes, from dealing kindly and justly with them: for Allah loveth those who are just.
66:09 - Allah only forbids you, with regard to those who fight you for (your) Faith, and drive you out of your homes, and support (others) in driving you out, from turning to them (for friendship and protection). It is such as turn to them (in these circumstances), that do wrong.
Self explanatory I assume?
'Christ' is even used by Quran as I quoted Verse 3:45. Christ means 'the deliverer'. There is no controversy. Christians have the right to believe whatever they want to believe in which can be correct/ incorrect as against views held by others from their perspective.
Christ is considered esteemed prophet in Islam so wishing happy birthday does not create any problems. You are a moron but should it stop me from wishing you happy birthday? Na :)
Sorry for commenting.
Anyway i hope you were not using 66:08-09 in defense of 3:45?
It was sarcasm dumb head.
Certainly not. It was in reply to your 5:51
66:08. O ye who believe! Turn to Allah with sincere repentance: In the hope that your Lord will remove from you your ills and admit you to Gardens beneath which Rivers flow,- the Day that Allah will not permit to be humiliated the Prophet and those who believe with him. Their Light will run forward before them and by their right hands, while they say, "Our Lord! Perfect our Light for us, and grant us Forgiveness: for Thou hast power over all things."
66:09. O Prophet! Strive hard against the Unbelievers and the Hypocrites, and be firm against them. Their abode is Hell,- an evil refuge (indeed).
From where did you get 66:8-9 You had quoted 60:08-09 and pushed them into surah 66?
This Surah(60) came down during the interval between the Truce of Hudaibiyah and the Conquest of Makkah, therefore such a dandy tone. Also these verse do not answer 5:51 at all which gives you the true picture of how your prophet thought at that time of their revelation.
Oh! my mistake :p It was from Chapter 60!
Please guide me as to how am I supposed to read and understand the quran with all the order of revelation of suras like you stated? Would it not be appropriate to read it as One Book?
Just a clarification!
Now-a-days you are following

Or are you still with

I am following myself.. 'I Legend' :p
So Dr. Gullay!
What are your current views about Sahi Ahadis and Sunna?
a. Reject them completely.
b. Pick and Choose.
c. Accept them completely.
Also what do you feel about the revelation model of Quran.
a. Released at once to Muhammad. Muhammad released it slowly over a period of time.
b. Released slowly to Muhammmad.
come straight to the 'contradiction' part man.. why dilly dallying
No i have to set the trap first! :)
and you think I will shy away from admitting faults in the religion that I follow?
Actually whenever discussing religion with a Muslim i have come to learn that it is better to set his position first. Otherwise the position flip-flops latter on and the argument goes to dust.
why do you test people like that? Just because they hold certain beliefs?
