Another suicide bombing today has taken 17 lives in Peshawar. I called my brother and asked everyone was ok, as is the ritual now. He replied in affirmative. I thank God that everyone 'near' to me is OK. How cruel can one be thinking of only his/ her owns and not thinking about the others who died... but I guess this is the state of affairs.

The enormity of these times has touched each life. We all believe that we are living through one of the worst times of Pakistan. The earlier feeling of shock has mellowed down because it has become so routine a thing. Each day there is a bomb blast in one ciry or the other. How can one not become immune then? The concern for our near ones is the last ounce of sanity that we are spared with. May that live on! I sometimes forget to check on my sister after a blast in Islamabad, delusioning myself that she is safe since nothing has happened so far to her. What worse can happen?
I think it's perfectly human to think about oneself and near/dear ones first.
fyi. Tuning out the Taliban
Is this true? I am sure you can write a post about this :)
